I hold a BSc. Building Management degree from the University of Natal, Durban and have over 25 years experience in the property development, property finance and private equity industry in South Africa and Dubai. In addition to being the part-owner of the Property.CoZa Southern Peninsula franchise which I own with my wife Lisa, we also own Lightcastle Properties, a private equity property finance business currently project finance and investment management services across various residential projects across South Africa. I was previously the Managing Director and shareholder of M Capital (Pty) Ltd, which was also a private equity property finance and mezzanine finance business based in Cape Town. Before leaving the corporate world I was Head: Property Finance for Barclays Bank, U.A.E. based in Dubai. I have substantial experience in the financing of property projects having worked for RMB Property Finance, FNB Corporate Finance, and BoE Corporate Finance. I also have an array of property development skills acquired when I worked for Group 5 Properties and Sanlam Properties. As a non-executive director of Property.CoZa I am not strictly involved in the day-to-day estate agency activities which are managed by Lisa, but I am involved in the financial management, policy-making and planning functions of the franchise. Our experience, competency and network is also a further source of valuable business to the Property.CoZa business and on the flip-side, being involved in the Property.CoZa business models allows us to be able to stay in touch with market trends and property market intelligence which helps to enhance our private equity business in turn.
