My academic journey began at Stellenbosch University, setting the stage for a multifaceted career. Starting as a Conveyancing Secretary in the Strand, I delved into the intricacies of real estate transactions, laying the groundwork for a career characterized by precision and attention to detail.
For nearly a decade, my focus was on the Strand, where my children attended schools, establishing strong ties within the community. Entrepreneurial ventures beckoned, leading me to own a Spur in Melville, Johannesburg, followed by the Avokado Restaurant in Still Bay. These experiences not only broadened my business acumen but also underscored the importance of delivering exceptional customer service.
A pivotal chapter in my journey unfolded with the establishment of an interior decorating business, which thrived for almost six years. This venture allowed me to fuse creativity with a keen understanding of design, adding a unique perspective to my professional arsenal.
The subsequent years saw me transition to academia, where I spent nine fulfilling years as a lecturer in Hospitality and Business Studies. During the challenges of lockdown, I seized the opportunity to diversify my expertise, earning qualification as a Financial Accountant.
