In 1992 Kempton Park was declared a City and has since been divided into 20 main residential suburbs in the East Rand. This area is home to a large township called Tembisa, the world renowned O. R. Tambo International Airport and a buzzing industrial and manufacturing zone called Spartan. Kempton Park is an incredibly convenient place to live with easy access via the Gautrain and O.R Tambo airport so close. The city is also situated between Pretoria and Johannesburg. To service the local residents, there are numerous hospitals and clinics as well as seven major high schools and a number of primary schools. In their free time, residents delight in the marvellous Emperors Palace or pull on their skates for a magical day at the Festival Mall Ice Arena. After a long week, they can relax and enjoy a pampering at Octavia’s Sensorium Spa or have a wander around the Deli and Art & Craft Market, tasting the various flavours of different fresh, local produce, homemade dishes and culinary treats. For a bit of physical fun, residents can head over to Kempton Park Golf Club or take a walk in the fresh air at Elandsvlei pan, an important natural wetland well known for its abundant birdlife.
