Wonderboom South is a northern suburb in Pretoria, with beautiful views of the Magaliesberg Mountains and its very own nature reserve. Two streams split off from the Apies River in the east and meander through this quiet, tranquil suburb. The Wonderboom or ‘wonder tree’ Nature Reserve is named after a magnificent one thousand-year old fig tree. Shady trees, Picnic spots, braai areas and hiking trails make this reserve a perfect place to spend time with family and friends. For some indoor fun, Wonderboom Junction is just off the M1 and features banks, pharmacies, clothing stores and numerous restaurants. Wonderboom Plaza is even more convenient and is situated within the neighbourhood. There are also two hospitals in the area; Netcare Moot Hospital and Eugene Marias hospital. This lively suburb is located minutes away from some of Pretoria’s main attractions, namely; the State Theatre, the Voortrekker Monument, the Kruger Museum and the Pretoria Zoo.
