 PROFILE OF OASIS

The Oasis After School Academy and Childcare are a safe facility situated in the small town of Ficksburg in the Eastern Free state established in 2015.

Oasis heart is to help children that had learning barriers, due to a lack for nutrition, social and emotional challenges and who are not accepted by other schools. Oasis opened an ECD centre as the small rural town only had 2 ECD centres. Oasis caters for 115 children whose parents either can’t afford the tuitions of other schools in town or was not excepted due to their barriers. 

WHERE WE COME FROM

In 2015 Oasis started a homework help program from a rental home to help the rural community. In 2017 Oasis opened a childcare centre with the help of the Donaldson Trust.

Donaldson Trust helped Oasis during Covid as parents could not afford school fees due to collapse of weak economy.

 WHAT WE DO 

Oasis Academy: Primary school children come to Oasis daily after school (Mondays to Fridays) for help with homework, studying of tests and exams, preparation for orals and school tasks. 

Oasis child Care: Children as old as 16 months come to Oasis and learn through play and get a great start in learning.

Oasis is known to be a home away from home for all the children attending. Treating them as our own children, we give structure to their lives through love, discipline and teaching them to be a better version of themselves.

Main House Room Features:
5 rooms that is fitted as classrooms with the capacity of 44 students and an office.

Bathroom Features:
1 Staff bathroom with 1 toilet, basin and bath.
2nd Bathroom fitted with 2 standard  toilets and 2 basins. 3rd bathroom 1 toilet. 4th bathroom fitted with 4 small toilets and 2 small basins, 2 large toilets and 1 standard basin.

Kitchen Features:
Fully fitted kitchen with gas stove.
Outdoor Features:
4 separate playground areas as per age of students fitted with jungle gyms, synthetic grass, shade nets, food courts, a big Lapa, toddler ballpit, bowling alley, build in trampolines, 2 sandpits, a staff braai area, 3 fully fitted classrooms with the capacity of 70 students, 2 Wendy play houses and 1 6foot storage container.
