Real Estate Industry Open
It was announced today by the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) that the Real Estate Industry can resume activities from Monday 1 June 2020. This follows the official announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday 24th May, that the whole country will move from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 on 1 June 2020.
“We are thrilled and excited that our Property Professionals can resume their activities, having worked from home using digital resources, for the last two months,” says Sandy Walsh, MD Property.CoZa SA. “The lockdown has limited real estate agents across the country and today’s announcement will give much relief to the industry knowing that business activities can resume from next week.”
The National Property Practitioners Council (NPPC) and the Real Estate Business Owners Of South Africa (REBOSA) as well as many real estate companies, including Property.CoZa, have been lobbying the NCCC to allow the real estate industry to resume operations for many weeks. The formation of the NPPC has been a positive result of the lockdown and REBOSA has provided the industry with detailed, carefully developed regulations and practices to ensure the health and safety of homeowners, buyers and all property practitioners.
“We have seen a renewed interest from buyers over the last few weeks and our Property Professionals have reported that many buyers have signed offers and are just awaiting the opportunity to view,” says Walsh.
