Setting up your email account on Thunderbird

You can download Thunderbird here: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/

Once downloaded and installed, Thunderbird will ask you to set up an account the first time you open it.

1. Choose Skip this and use my existing email

2. Enter the following details:

  • Your Name (which will appear in the “From” field in your emails)
  • Email address
  • Password

Click on Continue

3. Thunderbird will now automatically check your email settings.
4. If your settings are found, please check that incoming is set to POP3.
5. If it is, then your setup is complete and you can press Done.

If your settings are not set as POP3, click the Manual config button and continue as below

6. Ensure that your settings are correct as below

  • Incoming:
  • POP3
  • Server hostname: mail.propertycoza.co.za
  • Port: 995
  • SSL: SSL/TLS, use secure authentication
  • Authentication: Normal password
  • Outgoing:
  • SMTP
  • Server hostname: mail.propertycoza.co.za
  • Port: 465
  • SSL: SSL/TLS, use secure authentication
  • Authentication: Normal password
  • Ensure that the Username is the full email address for both incoming and outgoing.

7. Click Done. Your email setup is complete.
